I know I know.....it's been a while! I could pretend like it was possible for me to actually go back over the past year and catch up, but with over 100 shoots to update.............that would take a LONG.TIME!!! Summer is in full swing, and my sweet precious baby clients are being born every other day! I <3 it when I get that much awaited email or call that "baby" has arrived and it's time to schedule their newborn session! On Tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting baby "A" and photographing him at only 7 days old! He was a tiny little thang at just over 6lbs! I'm sticking to my original statement that the smaller the baby, the feistier they are!!! :)

As all of you know I'm sure, babies are my absolute FAVORITE subject to photograph. I've been in heaven lately because 90% of my sessions have been new, cuddly babies! And I have seven more mommas due in the next 4 weeks! I am beyond excited to capture such precious moments for these new families!

On a side note, with so many new babies being born, my schedule is getting so crazy that I decided to start booking for holiday sessions early instead of in September like I generally do! So if you're looking to book a holiday session between October and December make sure to contact me ASAP to reserve your date!

Last night I met up with Tanya, who is about the most adorable pregnant soon-to-be momma EVER! I had her bring some dresses so we could try out more natural artsy type portraits of her, not so much belly pictures. I absolutely LOVE the results we got! I know everyone has been complaining up this never ending rain and wind we've had lately, but I must admit, beautiful blue clouds in the sky, beat a white sky in portraits any day!

Can't wait to meet little Addison and photograph her in the upcoming weeks!

So it's been hit and miss lately around this area for a day with nice weather...actually around everywhere lately from what I hear! Over the last week I've only had 3 days that we were able to move outside for pictures! But we took full advantage of it :) This evening I photographed little miss Kayana! I've been doing her pictures since she was just a little baby and although she's a tough one to make crack a smile, it's always a pleasure!

On another nice sunny day, I spent some time with Candace and her cute little family! They are expecting their first baby boy! He has two adorable big sisters who are ready and waiting for him to make his appearance! I'm pretty sure his mommy will be ready anytime he is too haha!

And a couple senior boys....who waited until the bitter end but made it right on time for pictures :)

This sweet baby girl has been long awaited by her VERY proud mommy and daddy! She was such a dream to photograph! So tiny at just around 6 1/2 lbs she fit perfectly in all my props :) She gave me 1 1/2 hours straight of deep sleep! But we definitely knew when she was done! Those little girls can get fiesty :)

Late last night one of my very best friends welcomed her third, sweet baby boy into the world at 11:45pm! I was fortunate enough to make it right on time and get some shots of him when he was just minutes old! He's soooo adorable and such a chunker at 9lbs 3oz and 21 1/2 inches long! He definitely beat his brothers in the weight department at almost 2 lbs heavier at birth then both of them!! I'm so looking forward to watching Nicolaz and Ayden grow up together! :) Congrats Laz and Heidi! Love ya both!

Spring Mini Sessions :)

o this past Saturday we had our annual Spring Mini Sessions :) I had been planning everything for these special sessions for over a month when a WEEK before the shoots my giant pine tree fell right in the middle of my photo shoot spot in my backyard! I'll admit, I panicked for a mine, or hour who knows. But thanks to Arnold and our wonderful friends the guys got that tree chopped up and piled up before my sessions! I was sooo happy when everyone fell into place and all the adorable kiddos came to visit! We had a blast and the weather was perfect!!!! Can't wait for next years Spring Minis!

May has been a busy month for newborns, which is of course heaven for me! I've had so many beautiful babies in my studio the last few weeks and have many more due to be born any day now! Can't wait to meet them and photograph them soon!
On a very exciting note as well, I'm scheduled to photograph my first birth experience this week! I'm so excited to share that amazing experience with my wonderful clients :)

So as most of you know, I have a crazy 5 year old named Hallee...well on Saturday I got the pleasure of meeting another little Halle. Although, she was the complete opposite of mine haha. Light eyes, blonde hair...we all know mine didn't come out with any of those traits even though I had hoped for months and months she would. She was so sweet and wasn't shy at all! The whole family was just fabulous and gorgeous to boot! I must say, my birthday weekend was full of awesome clients...of course all my clients are awesome though :)

Isn't he just precious? He was the sweetest little bundle of joy ever! He slept through all the moving I did with him, and fell back to sleep easily once he was out! I was so wonderful to have such an easy session! And...I even got to try out a new pose I hadn't tried before!!! :) If I wasn't already having a little many of my own in a few months, I would want to keep him!

She was already 1 month old at the time of the session, and slept so well, and even let me doing a hanging pose of her which we figured we'd never get from the very beginning! Calendar Casting Call 2010

Looking for newborns up to 12 month olds for 2010 calendar. Must be willing to sign a full print/model release for for the shoot.

What you get:
Free 8x10 of picture chosen for the calendar
Free mini session(30 minutes) in studio for calendar shoot

You will be able to purchase any of the images from the session. The session will consist of a shoot oriented around the month chosen for your child. If you have a certain month you'd like to be entered for, please let me know and if it's available I will sign you up for that date.

All sessions will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Final shoot will be November 15th and then the calendars go to print. Calendars will be available for purchase January 2010.

Calendars will be up for sale online, as well in local shops. They will also be displayed throughout the Columbia Basin in multiple locations including but not limited to baby stores, restaurants, bridal shops, the hospital, and local community centers.

I was so excited when I talked to little miss Lyla's mommy! She was only 8 days new when I photographed here and she was a complete gem! She slept from the minute she got there until about 2 minutes before she left. It really required no rocking, shsshing nothing! I couldn't have asked for a better model! Congrats Steph and Adam! You've got yourself a beauty!

We had to reschedule this session 3 times before we were finally able to actually photograph the little cutie, because of me having the horrible flu, then allergies with a vengeance! She was so sweet and calm! I just love babies! They are my ultimate favorite subject to photograph!

Another one of my first newborns are turning 1 soon! I can't believe how fast they're all growing, and its so exciting to see them come back and see how much they've changed! I will have to give Kaysen an award! He was the first and ONLY baby to eat the WHOLE cake in less then 15 minutes! Thank goodness is was a small cake! I can only imagine how he'll react at his birthday party when he gets to have a full size cake haha!

Life has been so hectic! Between graphic designs, photography, and work at State Farm, I feel like my life is a whirlwind and I can never catch up with it! But I love it! :) So it makes it all worth it! I've gotten to meet tons of cute little newborns in the past few weeks, as well as an awesome family in the freezing cold sand dunes! :) I promise I'll be more frequent in updating soon!

Such an awesome family! Not many people would put up with me making them go to the sand dunes in February, in WASHINGTON, the state that never knows when winter ends and spring begins!

Phew! Things have been crazy over the holidays and I finally have a second to sit down and update! I'm so glad the holidays are over and life can finally get back to normal. As a lot of you know, I've been designing logos and other business products for a while now, and business has taken off! I'm in the process of starting a site for my logos, as well as redoing my current website with a fun new layout! It should be up sometime next week and I'll be sure to let everyone know! I wanted to share some recent pictures from sessions as well! I will for sure be back tomorrow to update, I'm photographing some newborn baby girl twins and I can't hardly wait! :)

I had lots of fun taking Tysons pictures! We drove all around town finding the best locations for pictures...even through a dead end road behind a corn field! :oS...We saw two deer and a badger too! I got to spend some time with Alexys on Sunday last week... She's working on her modeling portfolio!! She was a little iffy at first how much she liked the lights shining in her face but within a few minutes she was having fun and loving getting her pictures taken! She'll be on her way to modeling in no time!!!

My Own Little Munchkin...

It always makes it nice when a last minute photo shoot brings some awesome pictures!!! The temperature was perfect for outside pictures so after a few studio shots we decided to move outside!! I'm so glad we did because the wheat fields and grassy surroundings made for some great pictures!!!

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What comes in a mini session package?

All mini session packages come with the following prints. Additional prints are available individually which can be purchased through your online session! One pose per package (Excluding The Gardens Mini Sessions which allows 4)

How does a mini session differ from a full session?

Our regular photo sessions are sixty to ninety minutes in length and at the location of your choice. Mini sessions are conducted at a specific location and are 30 minutes in length.

All sessions include an online proofing session.

May I book multiple mini sessions together?

You may book more than one session in a row. In fact, it is recommended that you book multiple sessions if you have three or more children.

What is the cost of a mini session?

The cost of a weekend thirty minute mini session is normally $99. There are occasionally special sessions and prices will vary! Prices are all listed under the general information on the session of your choice!

How do I sign up for a mini session?

What if it rains or the weather is bad on the day of our mini session?

In case of inclement weather, mini photo sessions will be rescheduled to the following weekend if weather allows.

PREPARING FOR THE SHOOT - TIPS: What to wear?

The most important thing is that everyone is dressed in clothes they like and feel comfortable in. Put all family members in the same color tone and a similar style. The blue color family is the most complimentary color on every complexion. Navy in particular photographs beautifully. Dark colors like chocolate brown and navy are a great alternative to black as they do not loose their dimension and texture in a photograph. Avoid dressing family members in contrasting colors. For example, do not dress your children in white and then have the adults in black. This creates too much contrast in an image and photographs poorly.

Our sessions are at casual indoor and outdoor locations so choose clothing that is fun, do not dress in formal attire. Solids are always a safe choice and choose clothing that is classic in style as it tends to create a more timeless look. Hats, headbands and barrettes are a great way to jazz up and outfit. Collared shirts with rolled up sleeves and jean or khaki shorts look great. Choose t-shirts that have details like v-necks, embroidery, or lightly ruffled sleeves. For boys Polo style shirts are another good choice.

Avoid bright colors like orange and red as they tend to highlight ruddy undertones in your skin. If you have fair complexion do not dress in light colors and pastels as these color will wash out your coloring in a photograph. Textured fabrics photograph beautifully, denim, cable knits, sweater, linen and eyelet dresses have great textures and are excellent choices.
If the photograph includes more than one individual, remember to coordinate clothing so that everyone is dressed in a similar style and choose clothing that is similar in tone. In other words, dressing one child in black and the other in white is not advised; instead choose two similar shades of cream.

AFTER THE SHOOT: How do I view and purchase my photos?

About a week after your photo session, you will receive an email notifying you that your images are ready to be viewed. A link will be provided which will enable you to view and purchase your images online. If you prefer, you may place your order via email, phone or by coming to our studio.

How many images will I get to choose from?

Generally there will be 15-20 images per 30 minute mini session. Numbers may vary as each session is different. Please keep in mind that we post only the best images in an effort to make your selections easier.

Can I use an image from our mini session for a holiday card?

Absolutely, you may order loose prints which can be inserted into photo cards or choose a press-printed folded card option where the image is printed directly onto a heavy stock. These cards also allow for a small image on the back of the card, which adds interest and personality.
What are the prices of prints for holiday cards or folded press-printed holiday cards?If you place your holiday card order by October 15th you will receive a 20% discount off of the regular card prices. See below for details

We ask that you place your order by November 15th. Any orders placed after that date are not guaranteed by the holidays. We would like to further encourage you to place your order early by offering a 20% discount on holiday card orders placed by October 15th, 2008.

Can you believe it? My baby is 4...okay well she's actually not 4 until Tuesday...but her party was today. She decided she wanted a luau...haha so fun. She gave all her party guests lai's and hula skirts and some tropical scented bubbles!! She partied so hard...she finally CRASHED...she kept shaking her head, "no no i'm not tired" and all the sudden I looked over and she was OUT!! So...birthday picture sharing time!!!

We had such a wonderful day yesterday!!! We started off with a BBQ at Chandra's house, and eventually made our way down to McCosh Park for some free hot dogs, lemonade, and a concert...and then watched one of the best firework shows so far! The grand finale was terrific!!! I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!

Five Generation Portraits...

3 Month Photo Shoot

I took pictures of handsom little Kaysen Daniel yesterday!! He is the sweetest little boy ever!! He didn't make a peep once while we were flipping him all around taking all sorts of crazy portraits...and he didn't even mind the heat, 96 degrees outside yesterday which made my studio even HOT...come on new air conditioner!!! Thanks Court and Danny for giving me the pleasure of photographing your new addition!!!

The kids let me take some 4th of July pics of them finally...and that lasted a whole 5 minutes and then they were both being...well being kids!!! They really just work better taking pics individually then together...lol they actually need to be in completely different rooms in order to be able to concentrate on smiling and taking good pictures!! Hallee was obsessed with watching herself in my reflector the whole shoot...Fun times...FUN times ;) And Exzavior was blinking nonstop because he said the lights were to bright hahaha. Crazy kids!

I had pretty much my new favorite photo shoot a few weeks ago...TWIN BABY BOYS!! Omgosh it was a blast! They were SO much fun! And some of the most well behaved 9 month olds i've ever come across...they didn't make a peep when I made them sit in giant teacups...or even when I striped them down to nothing and made them pose with their bare booties hanging out!!! I can't wait to take more pictures of these little guys in the future!! They were a BLAST!!!
